Why is the wall construction so important for the quality of the building?

The above-ground section of the building is mainly created by the walls. Considering their surface, not solely their thickness is of big importance – support for the roof structure, but also insulating features – reservation from changing weather circumstances and large heat losses.

This last characteristic is particularly relevant in our climate conditions.

An important task in which architects must succeed is the selection of an excellent technical solution for the external wall insulation. In various circumstances, economic short-sightedness prevails and the decision is made to implement single-layer wall technique without warming layer.

In the multiple-layer wall functions are divided among two or indeed more materials. One has solely (or mainly) structural purpose, the second has a simply insulating purpose, and possibly also another component of protective and decorative purpose. Therefore, thermic insulation depends predominantly on the depth of the insulating material layer. Smaller or bigger diameter of this layer does not modify the structure of the wall (of the other layers) or the expense for its construction. The modification in thermal insulation features alters only the cost of insulation and affects the price of the entire wall to a small degree.

Veryfing the most economically effective depth of the thermic insulation layer conforming to the criterion of the shortest reimbursement time or the lowest expenses for the long-term use cycle should be the starting place for the investor to reach an accord on the selection of wall composition and diameter of the thermic insulating component.
